Time With the Zs and some Upcycling

I have had a house full of company for the past two weeks. Two of which are my sweet little granddaughters, Zoey and Zaphren. They are so cute and full of sweet mischief.

My Mom is also visiting and the Zs love her. Granny Jo.

I took everyone yardsaling today and we bought some clothes for me to upcycle for Zoey since we found lots of clothes for Zaphren and not much for Zoey. Of course I got too excited and cut up the dress before I thought to take a before picture. Darn. But this was a ladies denim dress that we paid $2 for. See how cute it turned out with a bit of new fabric!

Then I went to my closet and pulled out a sweater I had never worn. Just didn't like it after buying it. I know that never happens to you, right?

Now the finished product, it is a bit big so she can wear it for awhile.

Isn't she just the sweetest little model. She was so excited to have two new dresses in one day! Now for one more.

Now the after. She is set for some cold weather now. Not the 90+ it has been here. I am missing the girls now, they have all gone.

Thanks Baby Kitty

Wow Zeus was so surprised and happy to receive this package from Baby Kitty and Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict. He wanted to jump right in and grab all the goodies.

 Granddaughter Zoey Kitty held him back. 

 Wow what is that? A mouse, give it to me!!

Another little kitty has come to live at our house for the past two weeks. We will be sorry to see her go.

He's Home!!

 My son Arick just returned last night from a two year church mission in South Africa. He looks so good, can't believe how much he has changed in two years time. My boy is now a man. I know I am such a mom.

Coming off the plane.

Lots of hugs from Mom and Dad. Neice Zoey there to greet him too.

I wore the traditional outfit he sent me, including the hat. He says all the Mas wear these to church on Sundays.

Checking Durban time. He said he was traveling for 47 hours! Wow, I want to go visit Africa, but not sure I want to travel that long. He looked tired.

We made signs for him.

Lots of friends came to say welcome back.

Welcome home son, you served the Lord well. What more can be said, we love you son.

Time With Zoey

This is my granddaughter Zoey, she inspires me. See that sweet smile.

My Sweet Granddaughter Zoey is spending two weeks with us. What a blessing she is.  We love to have her and she wanted to help me today. In fact she really did help me. This is one of those projects that I have been meaning to do for years. In fact I am ashamed to say I meant to fix it up for my own daughter, her mother, years ago. Anyway Zoey came to me and asked me if she could play with the doll highchair that was in the garage. Now I got that highchair for Christmas when I was about five. It is very old and very ugly and very wobbly. And missing two supports. With her helping out I went to the garage and found a dowel and glued in the two missing supports. Then glued the whole thing back together. She dusted it off and started sanding.

Isn't she just the cutest little helper?

Then I let her paint the chair while I painted one of my own projects. I didn't even supervise which is amazing for me since I always want to over supervise, but totally working on it.

 I will have to post finished pictures when we are all done with it. But thought this was just too cute for words. She really did a great job for a seven year old. Nanna is teaching her right!
